Meteorite Studies set out to create a central, community-driven hub for the global meteorite community, bringing together collectors, researchers, and enthusiasts in a single, trusted platform. They needed a clean, modern website that not only presents information, but also supports meaningful interaction through user accounts.

The real challenge was not the technology itself. It was shaping a large, community-focused idea into something people could use with ease. We balanced complex data with human-centred features.
Our approach focused on understanding how large amounts of data, user content, and marketplace features could work together. The goal was to make everything feel simple and reliable. We established clear rules for data, categories, and user accounts early in the process. This made decisions easier and reduced confusion. It also created a strong foundation that can grow with the community over time.
The website design was built directly from the visual language of the logo. The colour palette carries through the entire experience, paired with a soft, dark background to create a cohesive and immersive look and feel. Subtle motion and layered visuals add depth without overwhelming the content.
We designed the logo around a central hand. It represents the rare ability to physically hold and study a piece of the cosmos. The concept reflects the human connection behind collecting, learning, and exchanging within a shared community. The streaks reference a meteorite entering Earth’s atmosphere. They also form the fingers of the hand, linking its journey to human interaction. The style balances a subtle retro influence that nods to a long history of discovery and study. Simplified, modern forms keep the mark approachable, contemporary, and fun.
We wanted to lean into the community's love of outer space, so we created a custom WebGL animation to add subtle movement to the site. A gradient moves across the sky, referencing a meteor passing through the night. The motion is minimal and non-distracting. The gradient uses the brand’s core colours to support visual consistency and strengthen the overall experience
The meteorite directory is the main place people use to explore and learn about meteorites from around the world. It brings together over 80,000 meteorites in one reliable, searchable system. With clear categories and country information, users can easily find specific meteorites or discover new ones.

Meteorite Studies invited us to attend the Meteorite Convention in Tucson, Arizona, where we immersed ourselves in the meteorite community. Having direct access to the product and environment allowed us to create compelling photographs for marketing and promotional use.

The platform gives collectors a personal space to interact with the site in a hands-on way. They can organize their specimens, keep track of details like size, type, and history, and maintain a clear record of what they own. Collectors can also upload and share photos, creating a visual archive of their items.

The platform helps collectors and enthusiasts connect to buy and sell specimens directly with each other. Verified users can list items for sale, browse what others have posted, and message buyers or sellers through the site. Each specimen also has a QR code, which makes it easy to share or check information within the community.
No payments happen on the platform itself. Like Facebook Marketplace, the focus is on making connections and starting conversations, not handling transactions.
